The Designer Lifestyle Many of us aspire to the designer lifestyle. In other words we want our clothes, our car, and our look to be be similar to that of famous people, celebrities and stars, so that we can bask in some of their glory. Looking posh like Victoria Beckham or casualy elegant like George Clooney can give us a psychological boost and make us feel more self-confident knowing that we're in tune with the latest fashions and could rub shoulders with the stars even though we don't expect to actually be mistaken for one. Of course living the designer lifestyle is not so easy if you don't have a celebrity's earnings as most of us don't. One way to overcome this is to have two or three luxury or designer items that are the real thing like a Stella McCartney dress, and to fake the rest. Barbour jackets are timeless in their elegance and superb in terms of practicality, so are worth spending on. Other prestigious marques like Hollister, Porsche, Valentino, are pretty desirable and worth saving.
